U.S. court blames Iran for 9/11 and orders $10.5 billion fine

Although it has been nearly 15 years since America was rocked with the worst terror attack in our history, a U.S. court on March 14 ruled that Iranshared the blame in the taking down of the World Trade Center towers and ordered a fine on the Islamic state of $10.5 billion.

Yet perhaps what is most ironic in regards to this ruling is that the judge in this case, one George B. Daniels, had previously issued a ruling where he declared that the real instigator of 9/11, Saudi Arabia, was immune from prosecution despite the fact that the majority of terrorists involved in 9/11 came from the U.S. ally, and were in fact funded by the Saudi government.

This court judgement appears to be little more than a political move following Iran’s recent missile tests which could threaten the Middle East and another ally of Washington, that of Israel. However, the fact that there is no evidence at all that Iran was involved in the attacks on the U.S. back in 2001 shows a desperation by the Federal government to use the court system as a means of implementing foreign policy.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has slammed as “unjust”, “ridiculous” and “absurd” a US court ruling against the Islamic Republic over the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.

On Monday, Hossein Jaberi Ansari described the US court order as “the latest product of the US Judicial system in the race for blindly following Zionist Iranophobic scenarios.”

“The ruling is ludicrous and absurd to the point that it makes a mockery of the principle of justice while further tarnishes the US judiciary’s reputation,” he said.

On Wednesday, Iran was ordered by a US judge to pay more than $10.5 billion in damages to families of people killed on 9/11 and to a group of insurers.

US district judge George Daniels issued the judgment in New York, claiming Iran has failed to defend itself against allegations of involvement in the attacks.

The court ruling is based on the 9/11 Commission Report which stated that some attackers moved through Iran and did not have their passports stamped.

The verdict comes as none of the 19 hijackers on September 11 were Iranian citizens. Fifteen were from Saudi Arabia, while two from the United Arab Emirates and one each from Egypt and Lebanon. – PressTV

President Obama along with his Secretary of State John Kerry have been crucified for their foreign policy in regards to Iran where late last year they removed economic sanctions and allowed $150 billion in frozen Iranian assets to be sent back to the Middle Eastern state. However, using a Federal court to punitively attack Iran and accuse them of being involved in 9/11 simply adds to Obama’s legacy of being weak in the face of confrontations, such as their failed policies against ISIS and their ongoing attempt to unseat Bashir Assad in Syria.

Americans will never fully have peace unless their government makes a real concerted effort to arrest and put on trial the real terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks that fundamentally changed the United States forever. And whether it was through the use of strawmen in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now in Iran to obfuscate and protect the House of Saud from the consequences of their actions, conspiracy theorists will continue to question the narrative and wonder why Washington is protecting the very country that funded and trained those involved in the 9/11 attacks.
