The biggest selling female artist of all time, Mariah Carey will finally receive her much-anticipated star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 5th. Since being introduced to her incredible voice in 1990, myself, as well as the rest of the world, was in awe of her number one smash “Vision of love”, produced by Rhett Lawrence. Drawing comparisons to another incredible singer at the time (Whitney Houston), Mariah received rave reviews for the song and standing ovations whenever she would perform the song live at award shows and talk shows across the US and the world. Blessed with an incredible 5-octave range, which is said to shatter glass and an equally amazing alto range, Mariah was the “IT” girl at only 20 years old. Then followed the hits, “Love takes time”, “I don’t wanna cry” and the sophomore album “Emotions”, which produced the title track “Emotions” and gave Mariah yet another number one hit. Known for her angelic vocals, Mariah Carey soon became respected for her songwriting skills and penning or co-penning most songs on each of her albums.
Ever since her first single, Mariah’s career skyrocketed to unimaginable heights to where she will be forever known as one of the most incredible voices of all time. With so many number one’s hits under her belt, equal to the Beatles success, Mariah is in a league of her own. She also has quite a talent as an actress and has starred in such successful films, as “Precious” where she received and won an award for her role in the movie directed by her personal friend Lee Daniels and “The Butler”. Fresh from her successful residency performing her number one hits at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Mariah will be joined by the likes of LA Reid, Brett Ratner and Lee Daniels who will also be there to honor her Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood. Mariah Carey is also known for her charity work, supporting such campaigns as the Fresh Air Fund’s “Camp Mariah” to help children that are less fortunate. Thousands of fans are set to show up in support of this moment in history when the number one selling female artist of all time is honored in the city of angels. Many singers of today will forever be inspired by her incredible voice and more hits are said to be on the way from the star. We are so grateful to have been introduced to this incredibly gifted and beautiful singer who personally, still gives me chills whenever I hear her song on the radio. We love you, Mariah!
